Detailed Job Description:

  • Provide direct instruction in CIMT's machining and computer numerical control courses;
  • Provide secondary tutoring support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students enrolled in lower division of CAST's Manufacturing Engineering Technology and NTID's Applied Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology (AMT) programs;
  • Could provide assistance into developing curriculum for existing programs and/or potential new programs;
  • Promote partnerships with industry and other academic settings;
  • Work with NTID Center for Employment to assist students in finding cooperative work experiences;
  • Mentor and advise students within manufacturing sector.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 5 or more years of machining experience, with a preference of Engineering or Engineering Technology background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering;
  • Ability to successfully cultivate professional contacts in the manufacturing sector for the purpose of establishing student cooperative work experiences;
  • Evidence of being highly motivated and having the ability to inspire students;
  • Preferred knowledge of American Sign Language and Deaf Culture;
  • Teaching experience preferred.
