Description:

SAIC has career opportunities for Entry Level to Senior Level Engineering Technicians for the Comms Engineering Technical Support contract.

Engineering Technicians will work within a multidisciplinary team of electrical & mechanical engineers, and other technicians to support the fabrication and testing of systems built in facility to support advanced Naval Test Facility’s. Knowledge of the following is preferred:

- Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR),
- Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Services (CANES)
- Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
- Automated Digital Network System (ADNS).

EXAMPLES OF CURRENT TASKING MAY INCLUDE:

- Fabrication of test fixtures through the use of light metalworking.
- Shadowing a senior technician while they perform assembly tasks in order to learn the Fabrication/assembly techniques to adhere to manufacturing standards.
- Assemble or install equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or termination.
- May create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair prototypes, cables, and fixtures
- Route, terminate and dress wire harness neatly
- Building, wiring, and QA testing of naval test equipment to adhere to manufacturing standards.
- Able to layout and assemble control panels
- May create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair prototypes
- Route, terminate and dress wire harness neatly
- Proficient soldering skills

Qualifications

:
DESIRED SKILLS MAY INCLUDE SOME (NOT ALL) OF THE FOLLOWING:

- Comfortable working with basic electrical and mechanical tools
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment
- Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion
- Knowledge in reading electrical schematics and drawings when required
- Assist in updating electrical schematics and assembly drawings when required

CLEARANCE:

- Must possess an active TOP SECRET clearance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Entry Level Technician - High school diploma or equivalent required and some technical training such as an associate’s degree or completion of a certificate program in a technical or engineering discipline is desired.

- Mid Level Technician - High school diploma or equivalent required. Some technical training such as an associate’s degree or completion of a certificate program in a technical or engineering discipline is desired. Minimum 3-5 years of experience with panel building and wiring.

- Senior Level Technician - AA Degree in related discipline and six (6) years or more of related experience; Or, High School and eight (8) years of related experience with relevant certification. Minimum 6+ years of experience with panel building and wiring
