The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will be a member of the Systems Engineering team with the objective to ensure that Treatment delivery system products are protected from cybersecurity threats throughout the entire life-cycle. Your focus will be to deliver expert architecture design and offer hands-on technical collaborations. You will work day-to-day with cross functional teams to build Security & Privacy into our products.

Preferred location is Palo Alto, CA

What you will do:

  • Architect and design cyber-security considerations into product design, implementation, review, update, and EOL management
  • Identify and implement solutions to effective address security & privacy challenges
  • Ability and responsibility to ensure security is built into the solution/design, define security requirements
  • Perform threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments for Varian product, work with engineering teams to design and prioritize mitigating solutions
  • Create, maintain, and document security baselines
  • Plan and coordinate comprehensive security assessments (e.g. Product Penetration Testing), analyze and report results, design, and direct remediation
  • Direct and improve the security of workflow and tools used in providing services (e.g. installation, trouble-shooting, remote access) and product support
  • Function as technical lead during a security incident response

What you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or related discipline
  • 8+ years professional work experience developing products
  • Experience with Java or C# /.NET or C++ programming
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with web programming and technologies

What will set you apart:

  • Deep knowledge of cyber security and Sans GIAC certification
  • Experience in the medical device industry

Min $98,500 - Max $177,200
