Technical Broker Assistant This role can be performed from one of many Aon offices, including, Boston, Chicago, NY, MN and virtual As a member of the treaty team, you will play an integral role in supporting reinsurance broker teams in providing risk transfer, claims advocacy and capital management solutions to help re/insurers reduce volatility and build more resilient businesses, governments and communities. You will help deliver innovative, effective solutions to clients as part of an industry-leading Reinsurance business development group. Technical Broker Assistants support the broker team in servicing client accounts. Technical Broker Assistants work closely with the broker teams on multiple client accounts which requires strong communication skills. The Technical Broker Assistant role is largely internally facing although there will be some coordination and communication with clients, reinsurers and other third parties. The core role of the Technical Broker Assistant is to support the senior broking team with analyzing and developing data, producing reinsurance submission content and client presentation materials, coordinating with internal teams, and managing the administrative processes supporting the broker role. Job Responsibilities Supports in preparing client presentations, including formatting content and editing grammar. Works with team to build content for reinsurance underwriting submissions, including analyzing data, and editing content. Leads placement filing and compliance work for assigned client accounts using Aon workflow and systems. Leads the production and execution of key reinsurance placement documentation with the direction of the broker team. Adeptly uses Aon internal systems to produce marketing lists, pull contact information, request data and documentation, etc. with the direction of the broker team. Tracks the status of key documentation and follows up with individuals, when necessary. Assists in the technical analysis of client information. Schedules and coordinates internal and external meetings remotely or in person. Acts as a general resource for the broker team (e.g., seeks out answers to general questions, uses manager or network of resources to solve problems). Performs Internet research, including accessing annual statement data, financial reports, industry news, etc. Collaborates with various supporting teams within Reinsurance Solutions such as client operations, market security and contract wording to bring the best of Aon to clients. Maintains a flexible approach and attitude toward assisting others. Plans and organizes work effectively. Prioritizes work and seeks assistance, if necessary. Develops and maintains a sound knowledge of internal network and resources. Serves as resource for Aon branding, This list is not all-inclusive; other tasks may vary based on business need. The Technical Broker Assistant responds promptly, thoughtfully, and effectively to changing work environments both in office or remote, changing priorities, and new situations. Additionally, this person possesses the skills and ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with internal resources, clients (where applicable), and other parties in a global and virtual working environment. Education and Work High school diploma or equivalent with college experience preferred Ideally, this personal will have 3+ years' experience in the (re)insurance industry either in an administrative capacity or assisting underwriting Requires strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other programs, with strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Proven analytical skills - prior analytical experience from academic and/or business environment Excellent interpersonal well-rounded communication skills Ability to collaborate well with others and to interact with variety of audiences Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple assignments, work well with minimal supervision and meet deadlines in a timely manner Professionalism Displays excellent customer service skills and attention to detail Proficient writing skills-grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading Ability to communicate effectively and professionally Ability to work independently with a variety of individuals Demonstrable organizational skills Professional appearance in a business casual environment Demonstrates discretion on highly confidential matters Career Path Future opportunity to progress into the role of a broker which would expand on the role and responsibilities outlined above to take on a more strategic and client facing role.
