Position Summary:
Work as a Teaching Assistant for academic summer programs run through the Center for Pre-College Programs! Students range in age from post 4th grade through post 11th grade. There are 35 Teaching Assistant positions available. Supervise a group of 25 elementary, middle, or high school students virtually off-campus field trips. Assist classroom instructors in activities related to students' academic development and enrichment in mathematics, communications, computers, science, and engineering.

Essential Functions:
Evaluate and monitor students' behavior in of the classroom. -Assist teachers in evaluating students' classroom assignments, final projects, and post-test results. -Counsel and mentor students, with a personal emphasis on building positive bonds while remaining sensitive to any and all difficulties they may have.

Additional Functions:
Teaching Assistants are required to attend all general meetings with program directors and staff, training sessions, and the parent/student orientation.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
Enrolled in college for the fall 3.0 GPA or higher Available for training starting at the end of May/Beginning of June.
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
