Position
LISC is currently seeking a candidate to take on the role of Accounting Manager. The position
requires an accounting professional who is responsible for multi-tasking and addressing
competing priorities. The Accounting Manager position requires strong analytical and
communication skills, and an understanding of US GAAP. The Accounting Manager is
responsible for supervising two staff accountants.

Responsibilities
* Supervise two staff accountants. Manage daily general accounting activities, including:
o Review and approve staff reconciliations of general ledger accounts
o Review and approve staff transactions in NetSuite and Salesforce

* Review donor agreements to ensure proper classification between unrestricted,
temporarily restricted, and permanently restricted donations. Create grant award profiles
and enter budget details in NetSuite.

* Work with the Development department to ensure all donations are recorded accurately
in Salesforce and NetSuite.

* Oversee accounting work performed by staff regarding:
o Revenue recognition for private donations and miscellaneous revenue
o Investment transactions

* Ensures regular deposits for checks received via snail mail.

* Ensure all ACH, cash, and wires received for the month are posted to the general ledger.

* Participate in the month-end close process. Provide requested documentation to auditors
as part of the annual financial statement audit.

* Perform detailed monthly review of financial statements for assigned budget centers.
Serve as liaison for assigned budget centers to ensure that any deficits are addressed.

* Serve as back-up for the Loan Accounting Manager when out of the office.

* Support development and implementation of companywide policies and procedures on
accounting and financial compliance.

* Ensure documents are filed timely and in an organized fashion which are easily
accessible to internal departments.

* Provide guidance and mentorship to direct reports.

* Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
* Minimum 7 years work-related accounting experience for a non-profit organization.
* Knowledge of U.S GAAP required.
* Previous experience with donations required.
* Minimum 3 years' experience managing accounting professionals.
* Exceptional supervisory and organizational skills are essential.
* Advanced experience in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, sumifs).
* Attention to detail required.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Working knowledge of NetSuite and Salesforce desirable.
