Reporting to the Business Unit Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the overall success of the corporate FP&A team, providing a high degree of proficiency in analyzing accounting data, identifying and communicating financial risk, and working cross functionally with accounting and operations departments to resolve issues affecting the business unit P&L. This role is focused on reconciling backlog and assessing inventory position to mitigate risk and project the near-term forecast and annual budget, delivering value-added business analysis and meaningful financial and operational metrics that inform insightful and accurate business decision-making.

Responsibilities:



  • Partner with FP&A leadership and business owners to produce the annual plan, quarterly and monthly forecast updates, internal reporting and performance management against projections for the line of business.
  • Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly P&L variance analysis against budget and forecast and review results with accounting, FP&A, and business management.
  • Monthly / Long-term forecasting, budgeting, and modeling.
  • Reporting and analyzing Operational Metrics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Executive / Ad Hoc Reporting and PowerPoint presentation preparation.
  • Assist with conceptualizing improvements for financial planning module (OneStream)
  • Lead time and conversion rate analysis tied to backlog and pipeline for forecasting purposes
  • Compile monthly companywide backlog reporting and disseminate to leadership
  • Develop financial tools, analyses, and metrics in support of business strategies.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • 5+ years of related work experience. Accounting/Finance environment experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Excel (Vlookup, ifs, pivot tables, charts).
  • Experience building financial models - historical or predictive with dynamic inputs.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a customer service focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management to maximize performance.
  • Problem solver and results oriented mindset, with a high bias for action and a strong ownership of accountability.
  • Ability to self-manage and operate independently to accomplish objectives and to meet assigned deadlines.


Desired Qualifications:



  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, CFA)
  • Experience in the technology or professional service sector.
  • Experience with planning systems such as OneStream, Hyperion, IBM, etc.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Great Plains, Oracle, SAP, etc.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI, etc.
