The Accounts Receivable Analyst will be responsible for mid-level accounting functions within the Accounts Receivable (AR) department in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and statutory requirements. The AR Analyst is responsible for analyzing AR general ledger accounts (revenues, cash, accounts receivable and other AR balance sheet accounts) and prepares reports detailing findings for general ledger variances and provides supporting documentation. The AR Analyst prepares intercompany premium transfers and performs month-end closing AR journal entries. The AR Analyst also identifies, investigates and resolves specific financial system interface exceptions.
How you will make an impact:
  • Monitors daily lockbox bank interfaces, prepares daily cash reconciliations, monitors unapplied cash, and prepares inter-company premium transfers
  • Analyzes AR and revenue variances for month end close, and prepares and inputs monthly journal entries including monthly deferred revenue and related monthly accruals
  • Analyzes and reconciles assigned general ledger accounts and researches and resolves variances
  • Prepares gross up of revenues received from Third Party Administrators and brokers
  • Prepares and publishes monthly AR reports, as assigned
  • Reviews, analyzes, and corrects discrepancies between various systems
  • Prepares and completes the review of weekly ACH debits
  • Interfaces with internal and external auditors' requests for information
  • Communicates with all levels of staff regarding analysis findings
  • Performs miscellaneous projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned
What we look for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required and a minimum of 2+ years related experience
  • In depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and general accounting structure
  • Strong analytical skills, communication skills, technical skills and multi-tasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented; flexible and creative with excellent organization and planning skills
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Knowledge of financial systems and Microsoft Office applications: Excel (Intermediate), Word, Outlook, Teams
  • A strong team player with the ability to maintain confidentiality

As Delta Dental navigates our Return-to-Office strategy, the expectation around work location for certain roles may be offsite until a future date, determined by Delta Dental Management.
