Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions

Roanoke College seeks a skilled admissions professional to fill an Assistant Director or Associate Director of Admissions position. The successful candidate will join an experienced and successful admissions operation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: extensive coordination with high schools and interested students in-person and virtually, organization of on-campus, off-campus, and virtual programs, event planning, extensive telephone and email communication, interviewing students and families, application review, presenting the College to the public, and the ability and willingness to work weekends and evenings. This position will include extensive travel to high schools, college fairs, and other activities for at least 10 weeks per year, beginning as early as this fall,

The successful candidate must have a high level of energy and enthusiasm for his or her work and the ability to take initiative. They should show commitment for working as a team member and/or independently as situations require. In addition, candidate should enjoy setting and achieving individual and group enrollment goals. The successful candidate should possess a strong work ethic along with flexibility and creativity. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required along with the use of technological skills associated with recruitment. An understanding of the value and importance of a liberal arts education is necessary. For Assistant Director level, Bachelor's degree and proficient computer skills are required, Admissions experience or equivalent experience preferred. For consideration for Associate Director level, five or more years of admissions or related experience is required, and a Master's degree is preferred. Job title and salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
