Senior Project Manager Clinical Quality

Monitors trends in quality and performance measurement and represents the Office of Clinical Affairs on quality issues with contacts at BCBS Plans, public and private industry stakeholders. Responsible for day to-day management and results of clinical quality initiatives focusing on quality improvement and measurement including cross-functional projects that are highly visible and important to the Office of Clinical Affairs clinical quality agenda.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Monitors quality trends and tracks the development and endorsement of clinical performance measures and applies knowledge to Plan and BCBSA clinical quality operations. Leads OCA activities to respond to draft accreditation standards and industry comments for clinical performance measures.




• Leads day-to-day activities of the various, highly visible, quality-related projects within clinical quality to meet divisional goals and objectives. Incorporates emerging issues/needs into operations as they develop as well as coordinates cross-department resources.
  
  
• Works with cross-divisional teams to contribute to white papers and other resources on clinical quality, affordability and related topics.
  
  
• Contribute subject matter expertise on clinical quality performance and measurement activities
  
• Create tracking systems to manage relationships with quality organizations and ongoing evolution of quality measures and industry standards

Required Basic Qualifications:

• Masters level education in clinical health sciences or public health or equivalent experience
  
• Required five (5) years or equivalent work experience in a health related environment, reflecting progressively responsible roles including clinical quality is required.
  
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing projects that require cross-department engagement with experience in planning, developing and implementing project management strategies for achieving business objectives and organizing and managing multiple priorities is required

Preferred Basic Qualifications:

• Industry-related certification in healthcare quality and management (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ); American College of Healthcare Executives or Academy for Healthcare Management)
