The Department of Facilities & Fleet Management, Buildings and Grounds division, is pursuing someone with energy and creativity to fill a vacant Maintenance & Operations Worker position. Buildings and Grounds employees are essential personnel and may sometimes be required to work overtime to include evenings and weekends. The candidate selected for hire must pass health physical and Police background check to include a drug test, fingerprinting, credit check, and employment verification.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The purpose of the Department of Facilities & Fleet Management is to sustain the foundation of local democracy.

The Facilities and Fleet Management , Buildings and Grounds Division, is seeking an exceptional maintenance worker to join a dynamic team that specializes in innovative, responsible, and environmentally sound grounds maintenance practices. Help us maintain the exterior beauty of our facilities by assisting with various turf, landscaping and asphalt projects all while providing excellent customer service to County residents and employees.

PREFERENCES: We require a high school diploma or G.E.D. and 1 year of related experience. The ideal candidate will have...



  • Professional 3-5 years of landscaping experience.
  • Experience using landscaping equipment.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools
  • Experience working both independently and with a team
  • Experience working and interacting with and around customers - both internal and external to an agency/organization
  • Experience working outdoors and in adverse weather conditions
  • Experience working a varied schedule including weekends and holidays
  • A clean driving record

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to perform duties which involve handling, applying or otherwise working with hazardous materials such as, but not limited to, larvicides, where applicable
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination and police background
  • May require a valid driver's license
  • May be required to be able bend and to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly; up to 80 pounds occasionally; and up to 125 pounds as applicable.
  • May be required to respond to emergencies after normal working hours, as needed

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
Regular / Monday - Friday (37.50 hours a week); Non- Traditional / Weekday, Weekends, Evenings after 5:00 pm Essential Personnel / On-Call. Mandatory Overtime during County Emergencies.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $18.94 - $24.27 Hourly
