Internal Audit Assistant Vice President - Data Analytics

As a Barclays Internal Audit Assistant Vice President - Data Analytics, you will collaborate with others across Barclays internal audit, to develop solid client relationships which are seen as a respected voice. In this role you will develop practical and innovative ways of improving audit delivery, while providing the support for the function to do this through a number of responsibilities including delivery of complex analytics for audit testing, training and coaching of data auditors.

What will you be doing?

* Acting as the data analytics contact for a portfolio of audit teams, supporting with day-to-day data analytics, while self-managing the workload

* Understanding, evaluating and translating requirements into analytics use-cases, while learning about the business and applying critical thinking to deliver business value

* Developing an understanding and awareness of audit within Barclays, including Barclays Internal Audit's audit methodology

* Assisting with the build of self-service tools/ dashboards/ data models/ innovative approaches to audit using analytics

* Assisting with data sourcing, cleaning and preparation for audit delivery teams

* Providing coaching to a small number of audit staff identified as Data Specialists, on how to develop and execute basic Data Analytics using SQL and Python

* Providing support to junior members of the team, including delegation of appropriate work and quality review

What we're looking for:

* Practical experience and understanding of statistics, data analysis/ data modelling - with either Python/ Scala/ Spark/ R.

* Practical experience working with SQL and relational databases

* Evidence of a critical mind-set, and ability to challenge ideas to find the most appropriate solution

* Solid communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with regard to describing complex programming to non-technical audiences

Skills that will help you in the role:

* A graduate degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Services, Engineering or related field

* Experience with advanced data science/ machine learning techniques (such as Support Vector Model/ Random Forests/ Clustering/Tensorflow)

* Proven ability to quickly learn emerging data analytics technologies and use them on the job

* Proven ability of working through challenging problems and working alone to develop solutions to address business needs

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
