Lead Software Developer

Job Summary:

Works closely with business partners and customers to identify stakeholders' business requirements during the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Documents business requirements and systems specifications.
  • Interprets business needs and translates them into system requirements. Reviews with the development group for system design and development.
  • Uses an understanding of the existing system architecture to identify the addition of or changes to system interfaces, functional system behavior, and data requirements.
  • Facilitates cross-functional team meetings to address business problems or systems issues.
  • Develops and analyzes system functional requirements.
  • Lead the application development team using Agile methodology
  • Code solutions using appropriate languages while helping to drive the improvement of internal coding standards and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Mastery knowledge of industry best practices and disciplines. Considered a subject matter expert within the organization and contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions to highly complex and uniquely challenging situations. Assignments require extensive evaluation of alternatives and variables. Expected to make improvements to policies and procedures.
  • Works independently toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated using independent judgment and discretion. May act as informal team lead and/or coach less experienced team members.
  • Serves as consultant to management and/or internal/external spokesperson for the organization on major initiatives related to policies, plans and long-range objectives.
  • Actions may impact the organization and its reputation. Effects of erroneous decisions may be long-lasting, influence the future course of the organization and/or require the expenditure of extensive additional resources.

Skills:

  • Full stack experience - Java/Java Script/Angular/HTML/CSS
  • Experience in RESTful web service
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills
  • Unit testing and continuous integration and deployment
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Problem solving & debugging skills
  • Able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Experience with agile development practices

Work Experience:

  • Typically 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Defines, analyzes, and documents business requirements, functional requirements, data requirements, system interfaces for projects of high risk, high visibility, high impact, spanning multiple areas, divisions, regions, systems, and/or processes. May lead and coordinate team of BSAs and/or BAs. Company domain knowledge required in order to devise viable solutions in enterprise architecture.
