Thank you for your interest in the Part-Time Mid Level Sales Associate position at Artifact. Previous retail experience is required to apply for this position. This is a physical job and candidates must enjoy physical work. The Mid Level Sales Associate candidate is an individual with a positive and upbeat attitude, lots of hustle and energy, loves people, and has a passion for design both current and vintage.

At Artifact, the sales associate has the unique role of curating a wide range of merchandise that comes in the store, thus greatly impacting the outward perception of Artifact and its overall position in the resale market. This is a position where you’ll get to execute your creative ideas and vision!

Artifact is a fast paced and dynamic environment. As the sales associate you will balance your time between working the sales floor, doing creative merchandising, cleaning tasks, and taking on projects such as Instagram posts or window displays. There is never a dull moment! It is important for all Artifact employees to be versatile and be able to jump in where needed to fulfill the store's needs. Candidates who thrive at Artifact enjoy designing physical spaces, take initiative to start projects, and love interacting with people by providing respectful and attentive customer service.

The first few months of this position is solely focused on learning the sales floor, POS, attending to dressing rooms, and customer service before beginning training for other roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a respectful and friendly rapport with all consignors, customers, and coworkers.
  • Adhere to all store policies and procedures
  • Uphold Artifact’s high standards for visual merchandising, store cleanliness, and customer service.
  • Handle store money accurately and respectfully
  • Work the sales floor and be able to multitask between store duties.
  • Arrive on time and ready to work to all scheduled shifts.

Physical Requirements:

This is a physical job. Employees are asked to move couches and large furniture multiple times a day, get up on ladders to do displays, and be standing for their full shift. It is important for candidates to enjoy physical work.

  • Consistently required to stand, reach, grasp, twist and turn, talk, listen and hear, use telephone and walkie-talkie, and make repetitive motions with hands and feet
  • Frequently required to walk, stoop, bend, kneel/squat, fine finger manipulation, and push/pull
  • Required to climb ladders
  • Frequently required to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Work performed requires medium physical strength
  • Consistently required to use near and peripheral vision, in addition to depth perception

 

Requirements:

  • Available to work up to 26 hour per week
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail and customer service
  • Self-motivated, with high attention to detail, quality, and presentation.
  • Excellent record of attendance/punctuality.
  • Highly reliable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex and/or difficult customer interactions.
  • A passion for style and interior design is a plus
  • Positive attitude and upbeat personality
  • Process oriented with a keen ability for mental and physical space organization
  • Basic computer and internet research skills
  • Participate in team meetings outside of business hours
  • Work at a fast pace to keep up with store needs

Compensation:

Interview process:

Artifact's interview process can take anywhere from 1 week to 1 month depending on the scheduling of the store and the availability of the hiring team. There are two interviews and a 3 month trial period for this position. The 1st interview is a 30min meet and greet with our hiring team. The second interview is to give the candidate a taste of what it’s like to work at Artifact. You will be on the sales floor working with our lead merchandiser for 1hr and then spend 30min experiencing the sales floor and dressing rooms. If the candidate moves to the next phase, they will be hired on for a trial period of up to 3 months during which the candidate and Artifact will gauge if the relationship is a best fit. At any point during the trial period Artifact and the candidate can decide whether or not to formally move forward with official employment.
