Position Description
Job Title: Clinical Support Staff
Department: Clinical Support
Reports To: Clinical Operations Supervisor
Summary: Assists in
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following.
1. Verifying insurance coverage and proper ICD coding for CT and MRI procedures ordered.
2. Verifying sleep study coverage and proper ICD coding for pulmonary department
3. Verifying DME, pulmonary equipment, coverage and proper ICD coding for pulmonary department
4. Completing the referral loop on office referrals; looking for correct notes and attaching them appropriately to the correct referral, making sure patients have seen the referring provider, if not verifying that the patient will be attending the referral. Effectively closing the referral gaps.
5. Clears "jelly beans" from login account timely and accurately.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: Current or pending certificate from college or technical school.
Computer skills: Routine keyboard skills. Ability to grasp concepts of program-specific software such as RDC's electronic medical record, hospital browsers, and managed care eligibility web sites.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and medication instructions. Ability to write routine office correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and convey medical directions.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear patients, providers, fellow staff, and telephone conversations. The employee is continually required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to assist patients on/off examination tables and/or assist in transportation of patients through the office via wheelchair. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
