Director, Regional Medical Manager

Job Summary: A medical professional dedicated to the care and treatment of patients with neurologic disorders (including epilepsy, ADHD, etc) is highly desirable. Additionally, experience in pharmacoeconomics is desired to assist in the generation and dissemination of appropriate real world data for the CNS specialty population of patients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Medical Affairs Department and the Medical Team in field based operations
  • Active and cross functional interaction with the Medical and Commercial Team to include R & D, Marketing, Sales, Corporate Accounts, Regulatory, and Legal. Emphasis on Corporate Accounts or Managed Care/Markets arena.
  • Opinion leader development both Nationally and Regionally; a scientific bridge for Professional Societies, Managed Care Organizations and Academia
  • Assist with identification of appropriate company grant opportunities directed towards improvements in patient care
  • Contribute to MA strategic and tactical development plans to include clinical trial protocols - emphasis on pharmacoeconomics analyses
  • Lead Medical Affairs with outside management/development of Managed Markets
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationship with regional/national KOLs
  • Establish self as internal expert on clinical and medical information for relevant neuroscience specialty areas (e.g. epilepsy, IA in ADHD, ADHD)
  • Liaise with business consultants wherever needed or directed
  • Active and cross functional interaction with the Medical and Commercial Teams to include Clinical Research, Preclinical Research, Biostatistics, Marketing, Sales, Corporate Accounts, Regulatory, New Business Development, Legal, Finance, Corporate Compliance, Human Resources and all other cross-functional departments.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:

  • MD, Pharm.D., PhD or other NS degree with experience (Pharm.D. or MD with specialty in neuroscience or internal medicine preferred but right candidate with experience and motivation strongly considered)
  • Commercial/market experience with product launches, clinical development and pharmacoeconomics
  • Preference of 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience desired
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written. Listens and seeks clarifications.
  • A "Can do" attitude and with appropriate business plasticity.
  • Flexible and reliable with eagerness to interact in a cross functional business matrixed team with emphasis on upholding the medical decision-making viewpoint.
  • Relevant experience or significant interest in neuroscience specialty areas (preferably Parkinson's Disease, other Movement Disorders or internal medicine psychiatric diseases); sound foundation and experience to scientifically contribute to the favorable health and well-being of patients.
  • Flexibility to handle both national and regional travel where deemed necessary.
  • Ability to work/travel ex-US where/when applicable for short timeframes not to exceed 1-2 weeks per assignment
  • Capability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned by VP of Medical Affairs/ Upper Management.

  • Relevant experience or significant interest in neuroscience specialty areas (preferably epilepsy, ADHD, other neuroscience/ psychiatric diseases); sound foundation and experience in science with business acumen, open to furthered development/willingness to contribute and learn will be considered.
  • Flexibility to handle both national and regional travel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain high ethical standards of integrity and quality.
  • Capable of being innovative and dynamic in approach to work.
  • Capable of performing other duties as assigned by management.
  • Authorized to legally work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
