Responsibilities:
- Receive and process daily, incident reports from previous night.
- Monitor the ever-changing New York State Security Guard Act for compliance.
- Perform diversified secretarial, clerical, and general office duties.
- Issue parking permits to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
- Prepare transmittals for parking fines.
- Supervise student workers.
- Schedule parking appeal meetings for 20-25 appeals BI-weekly.
- Monitor and compile a list of vehicles with 64 or more tickets on a "Boot List" for Security Guards.
- Prepare for fire drills in all academic and administrative buildings each semester.
- Process completed fire inspection booklets for University buildings at the end of each academic year.
- Arrange non-emergency transports during the day for students to and from the Health Center.
- Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required. Associate's degree in secretarial science or related field preferred or working interdepartmental knowledge
- Minimum two years of practical office experience as a secretary. Interpersonal skills a must. Experience in meeting the public under sometimes-strained conditions is needed.
- Must have broad secretarial skills, such as correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation; modern office methods and procedures, equipment and filing systems; knowledge of computer and word processing; Excel spreadsheets.
- Must have strong organizational ability and good record keeping skills; ability to deal with people and supervise a number of students effectively.
