Athletic Training Intern

A paid 9 month appointment as an Athletic Training Intern will be available beginning in August 2022. The successful candidate will assist the Head and Assistant Athletic Trainers with the daily operation of the Athletic Training Room. Applicants must be willing to work weekends, evenings and scheduled breaks.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and seek direction from the Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Trainer(s) with regard to any-and-all duties.
  • Advise and seek direction from the Program Director and Clinical Education Coordinator regarding the didactic and clinical education of all Athletic Training Students.
  • Advise and direct the athletic training students with regard to any and all duties.
  • Cooperate with and maintain a good working relationship with the coaching staff with regard to strength and conditioning, flexibility, nutrition, supplements and ergogenic aids, injury prevention, exercise technique, and rehabilitation of student-athletes.
  • Advise coaching staffs daily with regard to the status of injured student-athletes.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the coaching staff and athletic administration.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the equipment room staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 0-3 years experience
  • BOC certification and current or eligible for New York State certification required.
  • Applicant must also be current in FA/CPR/AED.
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a "Team" setting
