The Associate Core Integration Engineer assists in planning, testing, and integration of infrastructure technologies with the customer-servicing Core Network Voice and Data services. Consisting of multi-vendor infrastructure, elements, and platforms that include: Cloud Network Infrastructure, Enhanced Packet Core (EPC), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), DNS and WAN services. This position has an understanding of signaling/control plane to setup 5G, LTE data and VoLTE call sessions. This role contributes to the successful integration of new software, hardware, services and features into the core networks while ensuring highest network availability.



  • Assists in integration and implementation services, features and functionality within the UScellular core voice and data networks.
  • Support the overarching engineering vision, comprehending High Level design documents.
  • Understanding of SOWs, CIQs, RFPs and technical discussions for the deployment of new services. Basic understanding of the budget associated with the project and assist Project Managers and their leaders to ensure close tracking.
  • Utilize tools to perform, troubleshoot, and decode packet captures of data sessions and IP-based call flows.
  • Assist in lab testing and verification of new software and hardware technology.
  • Updates network documentation and ensure knowledge transfers to operations.
  • Understand and implement MOP and test plan documents for new engineering changes.
  • Utilize analytics and automations that improve effectiveness, reliability and shorten deployment cycles of new services.
  • Participates in a knowledge-sharing environment within engineering and operations.
  • Assist Project Management in planning and scheduling of new software and hardware deployments.
  • Engage in Technical and Change Review Boards by outlining MOPs and test plans to gain change approval.
  • Ensure communication of process and procedure changes to key stakeholders. Participate in process improvement initiatives.



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent work or military experience required
  • Foundational knowledge of 5G, LTE, IMS/VOLTE and CDMA call flows, as well as transport and signaling protocols used
  • Theoretical understanding of the business and/or industry
  • Knowledge of re-engineering / process improvement
  • Demonstrated problem solving / analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
