Quality Control Inspector

Role Summary/Purpose:

The site has a team concept, and as such, part of your responsibilities will be to support manufacturing assembly or materials related activities as required (less than 20% of the job).

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Quality Control Inspector, Level I - 1st Shift, you will:

Be responsible for Control of Calibrated equipment requirements and ensuring all equipment requiring calibration are kept under control

Track Non Conformance Reports, (NCR'S) for timely closure and adequate corrective actions

Ensure all manufacturing process steps have been completed

Verify that product is manufactured according to specified drawings

Perform incoming inspection on selected and identified products

Verify effective implementation of workmanship standards and that specified product requirements are met

Perform follow-up activities to close out audit findings and measure improvements

Assist others with the completion and forwarding of NCR's

Provide training to manufacturing personnel if deficiencies are found with specific duties identified in procedures

Perform, document, and report out on incoming inspections on critical or identified parts

Assist with preparation, scheduling and conducting of internal quality audits

Collect and report quality metrics to management

Report any accidents or injuries while on the job

Report any product issues to management that may affect functionality

Responsible for working around areas where hazardous wastes may be generated or stored but are not responsible for the management (filling, labeling, moving, etc) of those wastes.

Responsible for notification to the proper supervisor/Waste Management Lead of any spill events that occur

Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

Minimum 1 years of manufacturing quality experience

Eligibility Requirements:

Work in a fast-paced production environment subject to minimal weather-related variations, moderate noise levels and exposure to coolants and other equipment fluids

Frequently push, pull, lift, stretch, bend, and other physical activities within an industrial environment

Lift, pull and push of up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs. and apply up to 100 lbs. of torque

Extended periods of mental concentration working with mechanical and electrical equipment requiring constant safety focus

Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

Desired Characteristics

Minimal supervision

Familiarity with Internal Quality Auditing for ISO 9001:2000

Strong data collection and analysis skills

Prior experience in inspection processes for manufacturing

Prior experience in Documentation Control

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for:

To Inspect multiple materials for different product line, including valves

Performing specialized product testing.

To operate specialized inspection equipment.

Performing basic dimensional inspection of drawings and prints.

Identifying non-conformance material
