Summary Posted: Jun 6, 2022 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200384221 Apple's Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) Warranty team leads efforts to mitigate monetary losses, optimize various business processes, and improve the customer journey across our AppleCare warranty protections programs. We are looking for a dedicated engineering project manager (EPM) who is passionate about working closely with our data scientists, program managers, quantitative business analysts and AppleCare partner teams. EPMs on our SDS team deliver process and analytic solutions that have a strategic impact on Apple. They structure and drive cross-functional engineering, data science and operations in support of fraud detection and prevention. They help realize business opportunity and balance operational trade-offs through data science. Our aim is to address fraud without sacrificing customer experience. Key Qualifications Experience structuring and leading large cross-functional technical projects Experience with systems interface design and architecture preferred Ability to grasp the technical details of complex engineering and analytic issues and provide in-depth evaluations Ability to stay on top of the critical path in project rollouts to guide and take projects to market Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with individuals at all levels and develop partnerships Strong sense of project risk including the ability to predict, notice, clarify, assess, track, and mitigate Gathering and communicating the right level of detail for each project stage and audience Experience aligning project schedules across development cycles for client, server and infrastructure teams Experience motivating and empowering others to do the right things first Experience providing technical contributions to data/system architecture Previous experience in engineering, data analysis, machine learning or fraud detection/response would be beneficial, but is not required Previous experience in repair systems and repair strategies would be beneficial, but is not required The ideal candidate is inquisitive and has a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills Description An EPM in this role will Drive intra- and cross-team projects through the full software development release lifecycle Get into the details on engineering and analytical projects Build partnerships with engineering, data science, and QA leads across multiple teams Coordinate work break down from product functional requirements to technical implementation steps Design and manage coordination strategies across teams for continuous improvement Keep management and partners informed *Work under limited supervision, using good judgment about when to seek guidance If this sounds like a role in which you could excel, please apply to this posting.
