KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Software Engineer to join our Advisory Technology group.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and coordinate the design, development, testing and release of software for a broad development portfolio of both established and mature products, as well as new and emerging products
  • Work directly with Advisory business owners and the Advisory Technology teams to define the product roadmap, negotiate technical needs vs. new features, estimate the work, and deliver on it
  • Lead Agile and Sprint activities for development teams, in partnership with scrum masters, to deliver enterprise-grade applications/products in line with business requirements; oversee each aspect of the software development process, and act as the technical liaison between globally distributed development teams and product stakeholders
  • Hold development teams to high standards in writing quality scalable and supportable code, complete with appropriate peer review and unit tests, automated testing, documentation, and operationalization aspects in a CI/CD environment; mentor development team members to ensure delivered solutions adhere to the software architecture strategy coding standards and established organizational policies and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of industry trends within application development, data analytics, cloud computing, virtualization, containerization, hosted services, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, and data storage systems; contribute to software architectural discussions, influencing decisions, and collaborating with peers to maintain consistency across the organization
  • Participate in firm-wide and/or Advisory-wide meetings to stay ahead of emerging trends; coordinate team and 1:1 meetings with counselees to regularly mentor and motivate them toward their career goal; establish annual performance expectations in line with the organization's objectives and conduct performance evaluations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of progressive experience with Software Engineering and Software Architecture; minimum three years of experience leading cloud-first development teams developing a portfolio of enterprise-grade products following test-driven development practices, building test plans, unit tests, and automated testing frameworks
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience; master's degree is a plus
  • Experience leading teams in the adoption and use of Agile methods and techniques, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in different technologies for development in the frontend/backend, software testing (manual and automation), DevOps, CI/CD, agile methodologies and cloud services (Azure), C#, .NET, Python, Terraform, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of reporting and Busines intelligence tools, including Power BI
