Director of Finance & Risk Management, Remote

We're actively recruiting a Director of Finance & Risk Management for our growing company with a current base of more than 1000 employees. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance, the Director of Finance & Risk Management will be responsible for financial projections and managing risk exposure on behalf of the company. These responsibilities will include building financial analyses to support the organization's strategy and operations, and partner with the broader Finance team to meet the analytics and reporting needs of the company and our business line partners. More specifically, the Director of Finance and Risk Management will evaluate, develop, and implement an improved tracking system of value-based contracts which Aledade takes on downside risk.
We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or from our headquarters in Bethesda, MD.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning. The Director of Finance & Risk Management will aid in the development of the company's long range plan models, including revenues, margins, capital and liquidity needs. The models will communicate our vision, targets, and priorities to our business line partners, senior managers, our board, as well as current and potential investors.
Decision Support. The Director of Finance & Risk Management will be a financial business partner to the functional leaders throughout the organization. This person will assist in making informed business decisions with the support of financial analytics. Specifically, they will assist business units in evaluating ACO performance and improvement opportunities, and their readiness to participate at higher reward / higher risk levels.
Risk Management. The Director of Finance & Risk Management will evaluate risk exposure of value-based contracts, including contract terms, expected and maximum risk exposure, and risk/returns trade-off. The Director will also track expected and maximum risk exposure at the corporate level.
Treasury Strategy and Operation. The Director of Finance & Risk Management will collaborate with FP&A and business line finance teams to develop financial models to evaluate cash flow and financing needs. The Director will also work with our bank and insurer to support collateral required for risk contracts. They will also play a key role in managing our credit provider relationship and support credit facility negotiations.
Ad hoc Financial Analysis. The Director of Finance & Risk Management will work with SVP, Finance on a range of analysis as needed, including peer group analysis, product pricing, and corporate development initiatives.
Experience Required:
  • Exceptional quantitative skills and business judgment -- ability to synthesize complex probabilistic business performance and contract terms into scenario analyses, and create actionable recommendations
  • Entrepreneurial spirit - must thrive in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment, proactively pursue in a wide range of finance/business initiatives, convert insights into impactful recommendations and actions, and effectively manage competing priorities
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness, and comfort with ambiguity; ability to embrace change and build structure into a less defined work environment
  • Advanced financial modeling experience, with prior experience developing complex financial forecast, risk analytics, valuation, financing, or mergers and acquisition models
  • Strong internal customer service focus, with strong interpersonal skills -- excellent at communication, building relationships and working across all levels of the company
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience with a BS/BA is required
  • Prior experience in corporate finance, risk management or treasury is strongly preferred; prior healthcare finance experience is preferred but is not required
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • You think beyond your immediate team and contribute to making Aledade holistically better (active engagement in D&I efforts, culture initiatives, facilitating training, leading roundtables, etc.)
All prospective hires will be required to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated, including booster shots, against COVID-19 with a COVID-19 vaccine for which the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a license or an Emergency Use Authorization prior to mutually-agreed upon start date at Aledade, unless they qualify for a medical or religious accommodation to this vaccination requirement. In certain limited circumstances, Aledade will accept documented proof of prior infection with COVID-19 in lieu of a booster shot.
