Healthcare Economics Senior Analyst - Telecommute

Our Network Intelligence team is part of UnitedHealthcare's Healthcare Economics group which works with internal business partners to improve healthcare delivery financing and maximize member discounts through modeling, forecasting and analysis. As a Healthcare Economics Senior Analyst, you would directly support network development and managed care contracting efforts by providing custom analysis of proprietary and public data. The team has a broad range of expertise, including provider negotiations, financial analysis, provider reimbursement contracting and health care claims.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Reviews facility claim data to identify reimbursement rates and trends
  • Analyzes data to trend and forecast UnitedHealthcare's competitive position by facility
  • Prepares presentations and presents findings to our business partners
  • Provides explanations and meaningful interpretations within area of expertise
  • Works closely with other team members to collaborate and develop conclusions
  • Creates ad hoc analysis, reporting, and innovative solutions
  • Uses business writing skills to explain relevant analysis findings clearly and concisely
  • Develops best practice process and products based on rapidly changing healthcare environment

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of experience with professional data analysis, interpretation, synthesis and presentation for conveying results and recommendations to internal/external partners
  • Intermediate or better level of expertise in MS Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, formatting, v-lookups etc.)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of professional presentation experience
  • Health insurance industry experience
  • Network Pricing, Healthcare Economics, and/or Hospital Reimbursement experience
  • Knowledgeable of healthcare costs and quality topics
  • Knowledgeable and able to speak to emerging healthcare industry trends
  • Experience analyzing and manipulating large sets of healthcare data (i.e. identifying trends and patterns)
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
