Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Inventory Clerk to our location in Mission Viejo, CA.

We are seeking an Inventory Clerk who will be responsible for inventory and re-supply of patient care areas under Central Service jurisdiction. Distribute patient care equipment; assemble traction, all while adhering to established Hospital and Materials Management Department Policy and Procedures.

In this position you will:



  • Restocking Central Service storage shelves with supplies received.
  • Performing periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Maintaining adequate amounts of supplies (CS/IV and Nursing units as assigned) to meet patient care area needs, utilizing PMM handheld devices & PMM requisitioning module. Functions also include bin labeling, reconfiguration of stock, and restocking of glucose supplies.
  • Pick-up, clean, and put away equipment. Cleaning of equipment based on Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
  • Pulling PMM, CS, and Meditech generated orders.
  • Assisting staff making requests via walk-up window; and filling phone orders in a timely manner. Knowledge of Central Service Area an familiarity with supplies are required to answer phone requests.
  • Sticker Patient chargeable items.
  • Utilize PMM functions to navigate through requisitions, edit par forms and handheld modules.
  • Distribute delivered materials as assigned.


Required qualifications for this position include:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One to two (1-2) years experience of store room and/or Central Service with inventory control, and/or purchasing setting


Preferred qualification for this position includes:



  • Central Service Certification
