Building brand awareness and reinforcing that mental and physical availability where it really matters, at the point of purchase is what this role is all about. We have a portfolio of growing brands and strong distribution growth so there are lots of opportunities to do new things in new places. We need an experienced retail marketer to help us create and execute new and exciting at-shelf and pre-shop digital merchandising and promotions across our portfolio of brands.

This role will challenge you as we continue to grow our six brands in the increasingly competitive healthy lifestyle, sports nutrition and weight management spaces. The Shopper Marketing Manager will collaborate with the broader marketing team to deliver activation plans that span the entire shopper journey. They will drive the strategy and execution of all GPN shopper marketing initiatives across our retail customers in all channels, along with cross-retailer shopper marketing executions with third party vendors.

With six different brands to bring to life, communicating the brand proposition and messaging, through large in-store, channel and retailer specific, promotions and evergreen tactical, at-shelf and in the cooler merchandising tools, you will be able to grow your experience and fuel your career growth. The role is also all about collaboration inserting you in the midst of a customer, brand and integrated marketing teams. We are looking for someone who loves using and learning about shopper marketing insights and best in industry display tactics to deliver growth.

Role will reside in IL, Reports to Director At Shelf and Experiential Marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Description




  • Leads the planning, integration and development of Shopper Marketing initiatives to deliver on brand, channel and retailer specific initiatives, in support of the brand and customer teams.
  • Leads the translation of the brand brief to build or adapt large, ground breaking, retail programs and executes them on time and on budget, to drive volume at retail, build brand awareness and consumer engagement. Programs will be based on sound consumer and shopper insights, and may include influencers, partnerships, and in-store, at the shelf, events, sponsorships and (trade) shows.
  • Collaborates with digital and social teams to maximize visibility and consistency of retail programming and events both on-line and in person and identify channel extensions and other creative outlets to utilize brand assets, influencers and partnerships to full effect
  • Measure and track shopper marketing, promo and experiential effectiveness to pass on learnings and ensure continuous improvement and optimize ROI.
  • Optimizes marketing ROI in partnership with Brand leads, Customer teams and insights and analytics
  • Manages agencies and partners from sampling clearing houses, retail and apparel agencies
  • Project management of multiple projects across multiple brands with similar timelines and deliverables. Steward the development of all programs from brief and creative design, through the approval, print and production process and into the DC in preparation for delivery to the customer
  • Financial * Manages shopper marketing budget to ensure accuracy; performs monthly reconciliation of customer programming accruals in collaboration with brand team; resolves accounting discrepancies with Finance department and external vendors
  • Evergreen tools and tactics - manage an inventory of evergreen merchandising tools, always available for customer and experiential teams to use for tactical and ad-hoc needs
  • Planning - Collaborates closely with Integrated Marketing leads and internal/external partners on the development and execution of annual brand plans

Required Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to lead point of purchase marketing campaigns
  • Knowledge of current marketing vehicles including In-store signage, displays, demos, e-commerce, digital displays, social media etc.
  • Experience with e-commerce: Retailer-owned digital marketing vehicles, product detail pages, etc.
  • Ability to lead program and creative development: Writing creative briefs, evaluating creativity, coordinating with vendors and customers
  • Ability to create compelling presentations and present to customers, peers, and leadership
  • Understanding of how to interpret and apply marketing metrics and incorporate them into proposals and action plans
  • Confidence to challenge the status quo and champion new ideas
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to influence and secure support from cross-functional team members
  • Strong understanding of retailer-specific media partners (WMC, Roundel, AMC, etc) and the ever-changing approved retailer tactics
  • up to 10% travel will be required



Education & Experience




  • 4 year - BA/BS degree required



  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant CPG, retail and shopper marketing experience.
