Subsystem Operations and Integration Engineer III/IV

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, engineers, you will work across design engineering, ground operations, test engineering, avionics/autonomy, and systems engineering disciplines to drive integrated solutions while making sure operations is a central design tenant. You will consider all mission phases in this pursuit including pre-launch, boost, landing and recovery.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead integrated functional teams to Define and document operating requirements for New Glenn Stage 1 fluids or mechanical subsystems

  • Author operations documents that define product testing requirements, operations lifecycle, maintenance requirements, and critical performance/requirements interfaces across the system

  • Assess, identify and support fixes to gaps in vehicle operational timeline

  • Assist hardware designers with trades studies and analyses to ensure subsystem operability

  • Serve as primary subsystem engineering/technical POC for all systems engineering and systems safety artifacts

  • Provide operational feedback to subsystem designers and support operational analysis

  • Review procedures, scripts, and displays used during vehicle operations

  • Support testing and operations with real time troubleshooting

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • 5+ years industry experience in launch system, aerospace, or satellite operations

  • Passion for Blue Origin's mission: Millions of people living and working in space to benefit earth!

  • Hands-on experience in developing, authoring, and executing integrated tests and/or operating launch vehicles

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • 5+ years industry experience in launch system or satellite operations or testing

  • Experience with one or more of the following types of subsystems: cryogenic pneumatic, hydrogen peroxide, engines, hydraulics, and mechanical actuation in aerospace applications

  • Strong systems engineering background

  • Strong systems test and operations background

  • Strong systems analysis background

  • Ability to work with partially defined requirements and changing criteria
