As part of a small, passionate, diverse, accomplished and rapidly evolving team of experts, you will assemble major launch vehicle structures, secondary structure, and other spaceflight systems. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities:
- Precision assembly and checkout of rocket engines and components
- Nitrogen and Helium leak testing
- Hydraulic testing for valve actuation
- Detailed component inspection to tolerances of 0.0001"
- Borescope inspection of rocket engines
- Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
- Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles
- Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
- Safely work with hazardous systems, chemicals, and high-pressure operations
- Identify non-conformances and escapes, and deploy corrective actions
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
- Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required
- Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
- Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
- Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 10+ years of mechanical experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field
- Experience in at least one of the following is required:
- 1. Jet Engine Maintenance/ Assembly
- 2. Rocket Engine Maintenance/ Assembly
- 3. Engine Test Operations
- Experience with precision and tight tolerance assembly
- Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures
- Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgrounds
- Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
- Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
- Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

- Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
- Demonstrated success as a "hands-on" technical leader
- Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities

- Experience in handling large aerospace components

- Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs
- Military experience
