We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. As part of a hardworking team of diverse Supply Chain Engineers, you will enable and support the application of critical spunform components in the design of ground equipment, engines, launch vehicles, and in-space projects. Armed with a deep technical understanding of capabilities in the supply base, you will be the voice of manufacturability to bridge the gap between internal program engineering and Blue Origin's critical spinforming supplier partners. You will support engineering functions in the design process and procurement functions in supplier award decisions. Accountabilities include the technical direction and communication to the spinforming supply base, working closely with the suppliers to develop and sustain suitable manufacturing processes to satisfy part and program requirements. You will own technical risk identification and mitigation strategies. This includes being the first on-site at the spinforming supplier to engage and facilitate failure investigations and RCCA activity as needed. This position is commodity focused and strategically positioned with visibility and ownership across all Blue Origin business unit applications. You will leverage this advantage to create and drive continuous improvement actions to standardize engineering definitions, supplier program milestone communications, and technical risk identification and tracking tools. Recovering or maintaining critical schedules and ensuring requirement conformance by mitigating technical obstacles in the supply base will be your primary responsibilities. Because this position supports all business units and applications across Blue Origin, a broad working technical knowledge of spun form components of various sizes, alloys, environments, applications, and inspection criteria is essential. Strong creative problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills are critical traits of a successful candidate. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain Engineering - Metallic Forms and partners closely with the spinforming procurement team, communicating regularly with supply chain program management, commodity management, program engineering, and various imbedded materials and processes groups.
