What you'll be doing...

The Corporate Development Director will be a key member of Verizon's M&A team, responsible for all aspects of the company's inorganic strategy. The individual will play an integral role in leading all aspects of executing transactions to close. Responsibilities include identifying potential acquisitions, partnerships and investments that align with strategic initiatives. Targets will span a broad range of businesses within telecom, emerging media and technology. Companies will vary in size from small and private VC-backed to large publicly-traded companies.

Your impact includes:

• Partnering with key business unit leaders to source and evaluate acquisitions, divestitures, licensing opportunities, and strategic alliances.

• Leveraging internal and external resources to research and validate investment thesis and industry trends / TAM opportunity.

• Developing accurate, detailed operating pro forma financial models and valuation analysis in connection with potential transactions.

• Manage cross-functional diligence teams to support the pre-acquisition due diligence activities and assist in post-acquisition integration transition.

• Developing recommendations for senior management review and board meetings.

What we're looking for...

• 10+ years' work experience in Corporate Development, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, or substantially equivalent experience.
• MBA preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in leading due diligence process and negotiating term sheets and definitive agreements.
• Experience engaging externally with partners, financial advisors, and executive-level management.
• Exceptional financial acumen and ability to perform and review quantitative analysis with relative autonomy.
• Demonstrated experience presenting to and working directly with senior management.
• Proven leadership and highly developed communication skills
• Strong self-initiative - ability to deal with high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in key areas.
• Manage a team of direct and indirect resources to achieve organizational goals.
