The Corporate Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for leading the Corporate Accounting team in the preparation of accurate, complete, and timely financial information in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the policies and procedures of the Company. He/she provides value by serving as an accounting and financial coach to Corporate Department teams in their efforts to address compliance risks and meet strategic objectives. In addition, the Corporate Accounting Manager supervises the compilation and analysis of various financial reports, forecasts/plans, and special financial projects. The successful candidate is a self-motivated critical thinker, with exceptional analytical and continuous improvement skills. He/she consistently demonstrates an ability to develop high-performing teams that can work under pressure, meet deadlines, and influence change.

Responsibilities



  • Oversees and coordinates the operations of the Corporate Accounting Department by actively managing the team's evolving priorities and related workload to meet goals and reporting requirements. Consistently manages risks and responds to challenges encountered that may negatively impact the team's ability to meet goals.
  • Manages period-end financial close and reporting processes to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Analyzes and interprets accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and cost management objectives.
  • Performs necessary research to ensure proper accounting for unusual or complex transactions.
  • Prepares ad hoc analyses and participates in special projects, as needed.
  • Works closely with the Director to establish and execute the Department's strategy in support of the overall Corporate Strategy.
  • Proactively identifies and initiates continuous improvement initiatives across the Department, to ensure top-quartile performance. Helps define and drive continuous improvement initiatives to completion.
  • Works closely with Corporate functional leaders to provide accounting and financial insights that enhance their decision making and support attainment of their goals.
  • Serves as coach and mentor in support of professional development, employee engagement, retention, and succession planning.
