Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Classification: Exempt / Non-Bargaining

May be located in any CCI location.

Development, enhancement, configuration, and administration of event management and analysis tools.

Scopes functionality of Network Management solutions, sets technical direction, determines resources and access required, provides interoperability using standards-based technologies, and delivers a final product.

Apply technical knowledge to the troubleshooting of networks, operational support systems and software problems.

Lead systems and development projects with participation of Provisioning, Engineering, Customer Service, and other Operational and Service Delivery teams.

Provide systems training to and develop documentation for various groups within the company.

Works closely with Operations colleagues and customers to provide tools and systems to address technical issues and increase efficiency through process automation.

Qualifications

Expert knowledge and experience with Splunk Enterprise, and Splunk IT Service Intelligence (Splunk Architect certification preferred).

Background in network management and surveillance systems, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

Must have experience with software development, UNIX/Linux, Windows, scripting tools (such as Expect/TCL/Perl/Python), database design, and web development.

Experience with network management applications (e.g. SolarWinds, NetCool, and Cacti).

Hands-on software development and network management experience within telecommunications, ISP, managed/hosted services, or large enterprise environments is desired.

Must be able to initiate, coordinate, and manage projects from conception to completion.

Experience in telecom or service provider is a plus.

Experience in cross functional project management.

Strong experience integrating customer requirements and system improvements.

Bachelor's degree preferred and 3-5 years professional experience.
