Position: Legal Operations Specialist

Reporting to: General Counsel
Overview:
The Advisors Excel Team is searching for a Legal Operations Specialist with strong contract management and process skills and an ability to work cross-functionally to manage projects. The Legal Operations Specialist will support our in-house legal department by executing processes and practices to increase efficiency, manage change and control costs.
What you'll do:
- In collaboration with our legal team, manage legal project intake process, assignment of work to legal staff and tracking project status
- Help manage AE's document repository, including document processing, electronic signatures, electronic filing, scanning and data processing to ensure all documents are properly tracked, executed and maintained
- Assist legal staff to identify, advance and manage strategic and operational initiatives
- Collect and analyze legal department data to develop performance metrics
- Assist in the development and management of legal department procedures and workflows
- Collaborate with internal business teams on a range of projects to optimize legal operations
- Prepare basic legal documents and correspondence as directed by legal staff
- Provide general administrative and clerical functions
Experience you'll bring:
- 1-3 years of business experience
- Strong organizational skills; capacity to manage heavy workload while navigating a variety of competing, ever changing priorities
- Confident, professional and articulate in written and verbal communication; ability to build a rapport with all personality types and all levels of staff
- Detail oriented, focused on quality in all aspects of your work
- PC proficiency and knowledge of computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn other systems as necessary
- Ability to work independently, but also as a collaborative team member
Bonus Points:
- Prior work experience in a law office working with legal documents and filing systems
- Bachelors degree, however relevant prior work experience may substitute for degree requirement
