Summary

The Communications Strategist is a key member of the Technology Strategic Communications team, helping to develop, execute, and measure communications initiatives to advance the company's Technology business priorities. You'll collaborate with a variety of business partners across the Technology function and within Strategic Communications to understand our business objectives, then create and deliver communications deliverables that inform, educate, and influence audiences including our home office and field workforce, leaders, Technology functional employees, and other customers.

Your contributions in this role will help build awareness and understanding of how Technology is driving our company's multi-year strategy and the overall positive impact of Technology on our business. Through cross-functional collaboration with colleagues, you'll brainstorm creative and effective communications ideas and approaches, expertly craft and complete content, and measure results.

In this fast-paced and dynamic role, you will be focused on the Technology function including cybersecurity, infrastructure and cloud services, enterprise architecture, technology customer success, enterprise reliability, and digital workplace and identity access management.

This is a hybrid role based predominantly on campus in Milwaukee.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes, creates, and implements communications plans and deliverables to advance our company's Technology business priorities.

  • Leverages data to inform plans, evaluate effectiveness, and assess return on communication investment.

  • Consults with Technology business partners to develop accurate and detailed messages and content for key projects and initiatives.

  • Proactive professional who has ability to collaborate, build trust and rapport, provide counsel, and develop productive working relationships with business partners at all levels.

  • Strong writer with the ability to quickly grasp complex topics, synthesize, and distill concepts by writing for a variety of audiences.

  • Works closely with others on the Technology Strategic Communications team to create and manage editorial calendars and rollout timelines for communications plans.

  • Works well independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 6+ years of experience in professional communication, public relations, organizational communication, marketing, or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience with communication planning including setting objectives, strategies, and action plans, as well as measuring results.

  • Demonstrated ability managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated skill in a consulting role, interacting and building trust with a variety of business partners.

  • Expert verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to absorb complex information and convert it to an understandable format.

  • Ability to think critically to solve complex problems and synthesize information across multiple platforms.

  • Ability to adapt style and build consensus with business partners at all levels.

  • Ability to question the status quo and develop innovative and creative ways to advance business objectives through communication.
