Under limited supervision, the Senior Accounting Analyst analyzes, compiles and coordinates monthly/quarterly financial data and results based on US GAAP and prepares financial reports for leadership, develops and/or analyzes financial reports to illustrate trends in financial results for Global IT and reporting segments, ensures accurate, reliable and timely financial and management reporting, and reviews, maintains and reports on capital assets and capitalized software projects.

Responsibilities

- Performs month-end financial reporting functions associated with Global IT. This includes reconciliations, analysis, accruals and recording of fixed assets.

- Leads project accounting for capitalized software projects.

- Performs monthly administration tasks which includes confirmation of supporting data, documentation, recording information and reconciliation to the general ledger as applicable.

- Develops and/or analyzes management reports to illustrate trends in various financial values and capital and expense projects.

- Identifies, researches, and reports on differences between budget and actual.

- Collaborates with internal departments to assure integrity of data and reports and continually evaluates quality of information for accuracy and compliance.

- Coordinates the preparation and distribution of analytical reports.

- Working towards continual process improvement and building efficiencies into Finance and Global IT processes.

- Works with finance team and other functional areas to achieve efficient and effective accounting and reporting practices and procedures and responds to and requests from other functional areas on various inquires.

- Coordinates and completes special projects

- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial Science or equivalent related work experience

- 8+ years accounting, auditing or actuarial experience w/ GAAP reporting and general ledger application experience

Preferred:

- Master's Degree, CPA

- Progress towards FLMI

- Progress towards CFA or SOA

- PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience

- Insurance/Reinsurance financial reporting experience

Skills and Abilities Required:

- Basic Word, intermediate Excel, Access and SQL/Query skills- Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance theory and application and financial reporting

- Advanced level of people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility

- Advanced verbal and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.

- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.

- Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills

- Advanced ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects

- Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives

- Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions

- Advanced level of skills in customer relationship management and change management

- Ability to manage multiple projects or teams and set applicable goals

- Advanced negotiating and persuasion skills

- Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines

State of Colorado: This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $96,585 - $121,345 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA compensation includes an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and maintains a full range of competitive health and life insurance, retirement and other employee benefits.
