Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Business Analyst with experience in the business requirements gathering and the overall project management process.

Role Summary:

The Business Analyst role is responsible for the requirements development process through elicitation, analysis, specification, and verification of requirements from an end-to-end perspective and supports the ongoing management of the requirements.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:



  • Requirements/Documentation & Elicitation. Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., finance, security, compliance, operations) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with IT Business Partners and Delivery teams. Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements. Author and update internal documentation.
  • Project Administration. Tracking and updating status on key project milestones, activities, and schedules, preparing project documentation and conduct project kick-off, maintaining project artifacts and project information in required automation tools. Communicating project status to project team, stakeholders, sponsors, and IT management.
  • Project Management. Documenting project requirements, assisting project initiation deliverables, assisting with project planning deliverables, conducting project kickoff, completing the execution phase of the project which may include managing the project tasks, issues tracking, test planning and execution.
  • Project/Task Administration. Tracking and updating status on project milestones as it relates to delivering key artifacts for review and approval. Maintaining a repository of developed documentation and materials supporting those key initiatives.
  • Training and Communication. Providing training on software developed from delivered requirements.
  • Assisting with development of functional test plans and user acceptance test plans. Coordinating functional and user acceptance testing by executing the testing strategy with support of key business resources and tracking test performance. Performing data analysis to support evaluation of system defects or to develop requirements for new functionality. Triaging and troubleshooting complex user-reported system defects as required.
  • And other duties as assigned.



Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-3 years of business analysis or project management experience
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally



Certificates & Licenses:



  • Any IIBA or PMI certificates are desired

  • This position requires a detailed approach to task completion, strong communication and organization skills, positive relationship and collaboration/problem solving skills, and a general understanding of IT project dynamics.
  • Project Management skills to ensure assigned projects are managed, controlled, and closed appropriately.
  • Listening skills, to understand what is said and to detect/confirm what is meant.
  • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
  • Technical Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, managers, and IT teams
  • Modeling skills, to represent requirements information in graphical forms that augment textual representations.



Essential Functions:



  • This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
  • This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.



Physical & Safety Requirements:



  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • This role continuously operates a computer and other office productivity equipment (i.e. a calculator, copy machine and computer printer).
