Job Description:

The Public Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing instructional support to the Public Safety Department. Primary support will be to the Criminal Justice Program and the Police Academy on the Windsor Campus. The Public Safety Coordinator works with the department faculty and directors to provide an unsurpassed learning environment for our students through the use of state-of-the art technology and equipment. The Windsor Campus is a very close knit community with faculty and staff all working together to provide a safe and interactive learning environment much like you would find at Public Safety Agency. The ideal candidate for this position will need to work collaboratively with Public Safety professionals from across the front-range area, have excellent communication and problem solving skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Inventory:

  • Equipment and supply management for the Public Safety Programs to include: clean and maintain equipment in a ready state, repair broken equipment, inventory management for equipment and supplies, order supplies and equipment as needed.

  • Make equipment recommendations

POST regulations:

  • Ensure department compliance with institutional policies and procedures.

  • Maintain files to meet Colo. POST requirements

  • Assist the Police Academy Director to maintain compliance with POST Board regulations on onboard police academy students.

Program Support:

  • Support the CRJ program as needed

  • Onboarding students for the police academy

  • Assist with the Colorado Fingerprinting System as needed

  • Ensure compliance with POST Board regulations relating to Police Academies

Networking:

  • Recruit and market for the programs in the Public Safety Department by attending career fairs, organize career fairs, assists with web page management, and works withMarketingand the Director to create marketing brochures.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders by attending local and state professional organizations, sitting on advisory boards, participating in local committees, and meeting with area Policeagencies to assess training and education needs.

Concurrent Enrollment & Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Assist with concurrent enrollment activities for the Criminal Justice department: recruit, market our programs, visit high schools, assist with registration, schedules, and prerequisite information and requirements.

  • Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or related field, plus five (5) years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

OR

  • Seven (7) years related work experience (Criminal Justice, Business Administration etc.).

Minimum Payment Amount:

$48,431.00

Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
