Vantagepoint Data Migration Consultant

You will report to the Senior Manager, Deltek Global Consulting and interface closely with our Project Management Office.
Your Role and Impact
This role is part of the consulting team. This role is customer facing and is expected to conduct customer phone calls and presentations. Verifying accuracy and completeness of all projects, to ensure quality work, is a crucial part of this role. In addition, this role is expected to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Deltek's data migration tools and documents, as well as provide feedback and solutions to improve the scalability and overall implementation experience. The ideal candidate will be quality focused while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment in order to meet business and technical demands across a broad spectrum of customers.
- Performs data migrations (including extracting, transforming and loading data), data merges, and data changes.
- Assists customers and consultants with cleaning up existing data and building substitution tables in preparing for data migrations and changes.
- Verifies accuracy and completeness of converted data.
- For customers leading their own migrations, train customers on using data tools and migration best practices.
- Works with customers, project managers, functional consultants, or software support to analyze data, identify problems, and propose solutions for customer challenges.
- Provides thorough and timely communication regarding issues, change requests, and project statuses to the internal and external project team, including customers, project managers, functional consultants, and supervisor.
- Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and co-workers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Documents all data migrations, merges, and changes accurately and completely in conversion delivery documentation.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Provides exceptional customer service.
- Estimates time and budget requirements for data migrations, merges, and changes.
- Works within budget and timeframe requirements for completion of each project.
- Handles changes in scope through documentation in conversion delivery documentation, statement of work and change orders.
- Creates and maintains procedures manuals for data migrations, merges, and changes.
- Keeps apprised of product updates/new releases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IS/IT, Business, Accounting, or related program; or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years hands-on experience working with software-related data migrations or ETL
- 3+ years hands-on experience working in a customer facing role
- Proficient Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Proficient conflict management and negotiation
- Proficient troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Basic Team Foundation Server
- Basic SFTP
- Basic Microsoft Access, Excel/CSV, OneNote, and Word
- Basic Microsoft Outlook
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management principles
- Basic math calculations including discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, fractions, and proportions
- Preferred knowledge of Vision and/or Vantagepoint Advanced Import Utility, as well as basic Vision and/or Vantagepoint front end knowledge for validation purposes
- Preferred knowledge of ERP implementation methodology
- Preferred knowledge of architectural and engineering industry and accounting/ERP software including Ajera, Intuit QuickBooks, Unanet AE (InFocus), BQE Core and BillQuick, and/or BST Global BST8 and BST10
- Preferred understanding of server configurations, network dependencies, and SSL
- Preferred understanding of single sign on
- Preferred Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
