Senior Manager, Ignition - Target Operating Model

KPMG is currently seeking a TOM transformation leader as a Senior Manager or Manager to join our Ignition Tax practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and teams delivering target operating model for tax functions utilizing a convergent skillset of both tax technical application and transformative consulting
  • Assist clients to develop and deploy global function-specific target operating model plans including strategy development, workforce analyses and sourcing plans in connection with design of a new tax function, integration of business combinations or separations as well as redesign of an existing tax function.
  • Work with tax clients to understand market disruptors and their overall operating model across income tax lifecycle through strong industry knowledge and consulting experience
  • Evaluate sourcing and location options for Centralization/Shared Services/COEs/Global Business Services to strategically source and stand-up processes in low-cost jurisdictions to drive cost efficiencies.
  • Assist clients to assess the operational performance of their departments to determine areas for critical improvement, allowing companies to execute on improvement plans and increase the value added by the function
  • Identify and pursue opportunities in the market and lead team to deliver required services on project engagements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight years of a combination of corporate tax and tax technology experience gained in a well-regarded audit, tax or advisory services firm, corporation or technology service provider
  • Licensed
    CPA, J.D., LL.M., PhD, MBA, or MS in Computer Science from an accredited
    college/university; CISA (Certified Info Systems Auditor); CISSP
    (Certified Information Systems Security Professional); CFE (Certified
    Fraud Examiner); CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics); CORPTAX (CORPTAX
    Certified Professional); TCERTIMP (Thomson Certified Implementer); Alteryx
    Analytics Designer Core and Alteryx Designer Advanced; ACA (Chartered
    Accountant) with Lean Six Sigma (White Belt acceptable); SIX SGMA (Six
    Sigma Certification) - excludes Lean Six Sigma and must be Green Belt or
    higher, White Belt is not acceptable (Please note: Any candidate hired by
    KPMG into this position that does not currently possess one of the
    aforementioned credentials/designations, will be required to secure one
    within one year from the commencement of employment)

  • Working experience in reviewing current tax department environments for sourcing, people, process, controls; subsequently designing, creating, and implementing target operating model solutions
  • Demonstrated application of analytical skills with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well, both autonomously and collaboratively, in a team with KPMG's subject matter specialists.
  • Demonstrated track record of business development
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communications and people skills, attention to detail, able to multi-task, follow through and work independently as well as within a team structure
  • Ability to travel based on client and business demands
