Primary Responsibilities:



  • Research, design, develop, and test RxClaim software. Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. Apply principles and techniques of engineering, and mathematical analysis. Analyze and translate business requirements to technical requirements. Develop technical specifications and create design documents. Develop programs using SYNON/2E, COBOL, COBOL ILE, CL Programming, SQL, Java. Create unit test plans, execute, and document results. Write and run automated testing scripts. Collaborate across teams during the software development lifecycle. Meet with business associates, clients, and product owners to understand requirements. Participate in scrum meetings to discuss requirements and approaches. Perform code walkthroughs and final reviews. Address production issues, regression test issues, QA, and UAT issues. Work on the OLTP (Online transaction processing) of RxClaim and batch programs. Create technical documentation and diagrams, presenting to clients and business users when needed

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of Information Systems experience
  • 3+ years of application programming experience on the IBM iSeries (AS/400)
  • 3+ years of experience with Synon 2E, Query/400, COBOL, and SQL


Preferred Qualification:



  • Some Java experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
