This position is involved in driving new membership/sales growth for UnitedHealthcare Medicare products. This role will develop strategies and tactical plans to support acquisition marketing efforts. Includes management, development and execution of direct mail marketing campaigns, new member forecasts and results analysis.

Positions in this function work with direct reports and cross-functional team members to initiate, develop and execute consumer-facing direct response mail campaigns that support the brand, product, campaign, and marketing objectives. Assign tasks to direct reports and help them manage campaigns and prioritize work. Manage resources to balance workload and maximize efficiency.

Experience in managing staff is important. Knowledge of direct marketing, understanding the consumer profile, market segmentation, understanding best practices for testing set up, and modeling is crucial to this role. Developing campaign strategies, coordination and project management, reporting results, process improvement, and understanding the impacts of regulatory rules are all important. Must be detailed, organized, deadline-oriented, adaptable to rapidly changing environment plus able to juggle multiple demands simultaneously.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Identify and recommend opportunities for growth by deepening understanding of the market, competition, business goals, and value propositions
  • Research, develop and seek opportunities to engage prospects in new and appealing ways
  • Manage a team of marketing managers and foster a culture of curiosity, learning, continuous improvement, and innovation. Review work performed by others and provide feedback
  • Manage the development and implementation of direct response direct response mail campaigns based on product strategy while maintaining brand standards, planning meetings, maintaining databases, tracking sales data, and preparing reports
  • Participate in the marketing material review process based on internal and external communication standards established for the business (e.g., branding standards/guidelines, naming conventions, regulatory guidelines, legal and compliance review). Help review final printer proofs, when necessary
  • Manage the day-to-day requests from internal partners (Leadership, Marketing, Creative, Agencies, Legal, Regulatory, Product,) and key stakeholders
  • Review analysis of campaign performance and use to create future campaign strategies and recommendations
  • Review campaign forecasting, reporting, and tracking prior to release to Leadership
  • Work closely with data analytics to ensure proper modeling, testing, and reporting of campaigns
  • Establish solid relationships with key stakeholders and communicate proactively to manage expectations, project timelines and logistics. Anticipate stakeholder needs and requirements
  • Ensure that campaign/project records are accurate and complete utilizing established department procedures and tools

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and/or related field
  • 6+ years of Marketing experience
  • Experience within a matrix organization and influencing and collaborating with others
  • Direct report management experience
  • Proven direct marketing campaign development and implementation skills, including experience in direct mail
  • High level of organizational skills with experience managing and prioritizing many deliverables simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Expertise using marketing analytics to continuously improve campaigns and ad spend
  • Demonstrated success planning, executing, and measuring marketing campaigns
  • Feel at ease using project management software
  • Sound command of Microsoft office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. User of Adobe Professional

  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Omni-channel marketing experience
  • Cross functional team collaboration and communication / thrives in a team environment
  • Project management, attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to communicate on a professional level
  • Ability to be flexible, work with ambiguity, identify and develop innovative solutions to non-standard requests and solve complex problems
  • Sound leadership communication and influencing skills; influencing strategy with stakeholders

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
