A nursing student's clinical experience is an extremely important piece of their education that helps build not only nursing skills but confidence in the clinical setting. The Clinical Coordination Specialist role supports our students with the utmost Chamberlain Care by coordinating all student clinical experiences and by assisting deans, assistant deans, program/course coordinators and faculty in identifying clinical partners to successfully complete evidence-based learning opportunities. In addition, the Clinical Coordination Specialists embody the mission and philosophy of Chamberlain and represent the college to clinical agencies, students and the community through clinical scheduling and managing and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Reporting to the designated campus leader (with a dotted-line report to the Sr. Clinical Development Specialist), this individual must be a highly motivated team player who desires to share creative solutions, best practices and able to work in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage relationships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and other clinical agency sites for nursing students to complete clinical rotations and present sites to program coordinator for approval.
  • Obtain signatures and renew and/or terminate contracts between Chamberlain and clinical sites, based on alignment with clinical objectives.
  • Manage relationships with existing clinical agency partners to ensure student and clinical site satisfaction as well as successful clinical experiences for nursing students. Responsible for the identification and assessment of concerns related to clinical experiences; facilitate appropriate intervention with faculty and program coordinators.
  • Coordinate and attend healthcare-related events such as annual clinical coordination meetings; create and deliver presentations to key hospital leaders.
  • Develop innovative partnerships with hospital educators and leadership to provide educational services and cultivate relationships to source potential full and part-time faculty.
  • Work with National Clinical Coordination Office, Clinical Compliance, Marketing, IT, and Admissions to reach potential students and effectively market clinical strengths of nursing programs.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of Chamberlain curriculum and programs and clearly explain to clinical partners.
  • Participate in academic planning and scheduling for students by securing adequate clinical placement inventory for registration choices for students and faculty.
  • Facilitate recruitment and selection of clinical preceptors used in assigned student clinical experiences with appropriate nursing faculty.
  • Plan and attend clinical coordination forums, pre-clinical summit events, career fairs, student forums, and conferences as appropriate to prepare and assess clinical program effectiveness.
  • Complete work in a timely manner, including preparing, documenting and tracking clinical assignments.
  • Coordinate with Clinical Compliance Specialist to ensure students and faculty are compliant with site requirements and are prevented from entering clinical agency sites if they are not.
  • Serve as role model for faculty, staff and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance and general professionalism.
  • Use relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building and win-win negotiation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • 3-5 years of successful demonstration of business development and/or sales competencies. Inside sales and/or sales support skills helpful.
  • Solid knowledge of or experience working in healthcare field, directly with or for providers.
  • Strong presentations skills and the ability to develop relationships via phone and in person.
