Digital Marketing Opportunity in Insurance Industry

Content Strategist/Copywriter, Highland Capital Brokerage

Location(s): Minneapolis, MN or Remote (based in the U.S.)

Role Type: Full time

Summary:

The Content Strategist/Copywriter will be responsible for communicating our brand's story, and performing digital copywriting for web pages, landing pages, digital ads, social media messaging, email content, taglines, online funnel, plus writing UX friendly call-to-action button copy, and creating enhancement copy for blog posts. This role will envision how content will be presented or distributed in formats other than text-based articles such as infographics, e-books and multimedia presentations.

The Content Strategist/Copywriter will conceptualize, write, and edit content to deliver clear, compelling, and easy to understand information, and will write copy that encourages users to take action.

Responsibilities:

  • Write clear, concise copy for ads, web pages, and marketing materials.
  • Plan, design, create, edit, and publish relevant content that aligns with our brand and are based on business goals
  • Conceptualize and develop creative ways to engage our online target market and encourage them to take action
  • Gain a strong understanding of our consumers, and the ability to anticipate their needs by understanding behavior, as well as consumer thoughts and trends
  • Discover and analyze buyer personas leading to the development of empathy mapping and relevant content strategies to bolster sales
  • Assess competitor content and user experiences for content coverage, quality, gaps, and emerging content trends.
  • Plan editorial calendar and work with marketing team to implement strategies
  • Develop content guidelines for tone, style and voice of content and ensure guidelines are followed by overseeing the writing style and tone of all content
  • Ensure content is consistent across all platforms such as web site, email communication, digital ads, social media, Trustpilot, and anywhere our brand is accessed.
  • Strategize content pillars and sub pillars, and work with Content Manager to create and maintain internal linking
  • Collaborate with marketing team to define and implement innovation goals
  • Develop ideas to test calls to action and funnel copy to increase conversion
  • Work with development team and UX/Visual Designer to implement A/B tests. Track, evaluate and report on test results with recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Keep track of changes in consumer shopping behavior as well as industry trends.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English or Equivalent

Basic Requirements:

  • Strategic planning experience in a creative environment
  • 3-5+ years professional experience with content strategy
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Excellent content presentation, content delivery, and content monetization skills
  • Excellent ability to write compelling headlines and email subject lines
  • Ability to boil down complex product jargon in an easy to understand and interesting way
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, with creative ideation.
  • Good understanding of SEO and SEM fundamentals
  • Efficient ability to quickly gather the right information, analyze it and make decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy
