Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our growing team.

Role Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supports the business and Human Resources Managers on general Human Resources matters across all geographical and functional areas.

The HRBP will have significant business partner experience and be responsible for a business area across multiple clients, services or locations with the ability to work independently. This role works in conjunction with the Human Resources team including Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Compensation, Benefits, and Human Resources Managers.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:



  • General HR Support: Responsible for day-to-day HR decisions, ensuring that support and advice are aligned with corporate, business and functional objectives and strategies. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs. Prepare and distribute HR-related documents as required
  • Employment Law: Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Employee Relations: Supports Employee Relations team with investigating and resolving employee relations and personnel issues as needed
  • Performance Management: Supports and advises assigned client groups with performance management cases such as discipline and performance improvement plans
  • Labor Relations: Supports Employee Relations team with labor negotiations, contract administration, grievance and arbitration processes
  • Due Diligence: May lead and/or execute the delivery of HR tasks during acquisition and integration activities in area of responsibility
  • Ownership of HR Policies/Programs: Manage education assistance reimbursement program from application through payment. Manage the interactive dialogue process for employees out on leave and support other HR policies or programs as needed
  • Exit Process: Responsible for full off-boarding process including exit interviews, logistics, and termination workflow processing
  • Drug-Testing Administration: Maintaining HR related legal compliance with regards to DOT Drug and Alcohol testing and providing appropriate training and resources for personnel compliance
  • Assist HR Managers in driving organizational development through effective workforce planning, recruiting, talent/performance management and succession planning initiatives
  • Support employee communications and engagement initiatives
  • And other duties as assigned



Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or other related discipline OR equivalent combination of experience and education required
  • 5+ years of general HR experience required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and experience with UKG or other HR/Payroll software a plus
  • Up to 30% travel



Certificates & Licenses:



  • PHR or SPHR a plus

Essential Functions:



  • This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards
