Description

The Department of Pediatrics, Dell Medical School, The University of Texas at Austin, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and its clinical partner, Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, has an immediate opening for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist with specialized training in pediatric advanced endoscopy. In addition to routine procedures, the successful applicant will be skilled in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound, transluminal drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts and fine needle aspiration. The position includes opportunities for program development, medical education, clinical research, and administration. Call coverage will be shared with the other members of the division.

The Pediatric Gastroenterology Division has grown to 10 members. In addition to a thriving general GI service, there are well established programs in neurogastroenterology, CF and intestinal rehabilitation, evolving programs in IBD and EoE with plans for the near-term startup of programs in hepatology and advanced endoscopy. In addition to the central Austin office, where outpatient infusion services are provided, there are 7 outreach clinics around Central Texas. Inpatient services are provided at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas and will expand soon to the new Dell North Hospital in Cedar Park.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have an M.D., or equivalent, or M.D./Ph.D., with board certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Eligible for Texas medical licensure
  • Eligible for faculty appointment with the University of Texas Dell Medical School
