PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF WISCONSIN, INC. STATEWIDE, WI VICE PRESIDENT OF SAFETY, SECURITY, & TECHNOLOGY At Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Inc. (PPWI), we work to provide quality, affordable health care services, comprehensive education, and strong advocacy. We serve over 60,000 patients annually in 22 health centers statewide, making us the largest and most trusted reproductive health care provider in Wisconsin. Our goal is to help keep Wisconsin safe, healthy and strong! This is an excellent opportunity for a Vice President of Safety, Security, and Technology (40 hrs./wk.) throughout Wisconsin. PURPOSE OF POSITION: The VP of Safety, Security, and Technology is a thought leader who articulates the strategy for agency's safety and security, information technology, cyber-security, and physical plant. They lead and oversee the integration and execution of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin's (PPWI) statewide technology, cyber and physical infrastructure and provide leadership, supervision, and support to the teams who advance this work. The VP is a member of PPWI's leadership team. QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: Must have a deep commitment to the mission, vision and values of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Other qualifications include the following: * A broad and deep understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, advanced practices in health care organizations' cyber and physical security, infrastructure needs, and related compliance practices. * Must be committed to providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. * Proven ability to manage multiple large and complex projects, meet deadlines, and complete projects on time and on budget. * Demonstrated project management, supervision, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of collaboration, team development and engagement, with an ability to delegate effectively, supporting team members to achieve success. * Must have demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. * Demonstrated knowledge of best practices of physical security of people and facilities. * History of leading creative, resourceful initiatives, conceptualizing and operationalizing innovative solutions, and building consensus to support implementation across multiple stakeholders. * Demonstrated experience setting direction and overseeing health care information technology infrastructures, including the highest quality compliance, privacy and security systems. * A proven track record of advancing their knowledge around emerging practices in health care technology, cyber-security, physical security, and the impact of physical space on patient experience. * Prior experience guiding and supporting InfoSec & Securities teams and/or committees. * Proven ability to cultivate, steward, and expand authentic relationships with law enforcement, business partnerships and vendor relationships. Demonstrated negotiation skills. * Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: VP of Safety, Security, and Technology must have a bachelor's degree and seven years of progressively responsible experience in criminal justice, security, or information technology, including two years in healthcare operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated supervisory experience required. SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position is predominantly sedentary requiring the ability to sit, bend, stand and walk. May require occasional stooping, reaching, stair-climbing and repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard. Rarely requires kneeling, pushing/pulling and repetitive motions of the feet. Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling and grasping regularly. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. Requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax, copy machine and adding machine or calculator. WORKING CONDITIONS: The position is generally performed in an office environment but involves frequent interruptions. The noise level is generally low to quiet. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations, however, may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform said essential functions. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary. This position requires traveling statewide, therefore a valid driver's license and auto insurance in accordance with agency liability standards is required. Must have transportation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead statewide agency operations related to the highest quality safety, security, facilities, and information technology, responsible for developing and implementing strategic and operational plans with measurable goals, anchored in health equity, to advance PPWI's ability to maintain and expand access to care, prioritizing ensuring staff and patient safety. Maintain relationships with staff across the affiliate, and a public presence serving as both a diplomat and advocate for PPWI interests and issues within the Planned Parenthood Federation, health care systems, related business partners and vendors, and communities across the state PPWI serves whether in-person or via telehealth. Use data analysis to develop business strategy, initiate operational and performance improvements. Create clear and concise reports, evaluations, and narratives, demonstrating the value and impact of PPWI activities for varied audiences, including the PPWI Board of Directors, agency leaders, and others as needed. Oversee and maintain strict compliance of all InfoSec & Securities policies and protocols. Serve as a member of the agency's Quality and Risk Management committee. Lead the overall compliance for agency security programs; ensure the highest quality compliance policies and procedures. Develop agency cybersecurity policies, procedures, protocols and rooted in the most advanced practices. Ensure Security, Facilities, and Information Technology have the highest quality evaluation and monitoring systems in place to ensure compliance with all PPFA, Federal and State regulations. Participate in Planned Parenthood Federation of America's (PPFA) national Security and InfoSec efforts. Continuously evolve the agency's technology infrastructure to not only meet but exceed industry standards via the implementation of the most advanced information security components. Provide on-going consultation and support to the CEO, agency leaders, the Board of Directors and other agency leaders as a member of the agency leadership team regarding security, technology, and physical locations. Ensure facilities reflect the needs of the community and represent the dignity that PPWI patients and community deserve. Provide active staffing and leadership for any related board committee attend board and committee meetings to provide progress updates, data and other information as needed. Engage in regular professional development to stay apprised of relevant industry advances. Serve as an agency-wide leader engaging cross-departmental strategies to advance the agency's strategic goals and objectives. Develop and maintain productive cross-departmental relationships. Serve as a mentor to advance leadership of others. Oversee the creation and execution of the operational plans for Security, Facilities, and Information Technology. Oversee the development and management of operational budgets that reflect the agency's short and long-term strategic goals. Serve as a member of the agency's leadership team. Regularly update leadership and staff on activities and progress toward strategic goals. Attend PPWI board and/or committee meetings as needed. Develop and manage vendor relationships. Develop clear plans and measures for contracting with vendors and/or companies owned and operated by people from historically marginalized communities. Identify and evaluate opportunities for strategic partnerships, within PPFA and externally, to advance the mission, grow services, and advance health equity in services areas. Participate as a PPWI representative and technical expert on appropriate national, regional and state-level workgroups and advisory boards. Associate HIPAA Security Officer Support the HIPAA Security Officer and provide assistance to: Manage and enforce the Security Rule safeguards and any subsequent rules issued by OCR. Integrate IT security and HIPAA compliance with the agency's business strategies and requirements. Address issues related to access controls, business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response. Ensure the agency's HIPAA Security program is consistently documented, reviewed, and updated. Promote organizational security awareness, including staff training, in collaboration with agency's HIPAA Privacy Officer. Conduct internal/external risk assessments and audits. Investigate data breaches, provide suggestions and implement measures for future prevention and/or containment. In the absence of the HIPAA Security Officer, the Associate HIPAA Security Officer shall assume full responsibilities for HIPAA security. Perform other duties as assigned.
