Job Details:

Purpose

Coordinates administration of ARL Key Control and Accountability Policy. Provides ongoing installation, maintenance and repair to Electronic Security System (Alarms, Access Control and CCTV Systems) hardware/software components.

Responsibilities
  • Install, program, replace, repair and maintain ARL access control system devices, components, and software.

  • Install, program, replace, repair and maintain ARL video management system devices, components, and software (IP based).

  • Documents, inventories and creates reports for work performed.

  • Install, maintain, calibrate or repair and test data cable and wiring, electronic door locks, mag locks, door position switches, request to exit detectors, and other physical security system related hardware.

  • Trouble shoot, repair/correct security equipment hardware/software malfunctions to ARL or manufacturer standards.

  • Research and recommend security technology enhancements to current systems.

  • Install, maintain, inspect, modify, remodel, and/or repair mechanical and electronic locks, locking systems, door closures, and locking devices. Inspect, evaluate, and repair and/or replace door hardware systems to assure proper operations.

  • Organize and maintain key and lock documentation including records of key recipients and respective key codes.

  • Other related duties assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • HS/GED

  • Five years of experience related to the essential functions of this position.

  • Certified as repair technician in at least one access control system or one video management system.

  • At least one year of verifiable practical experience performing locksmith, low voltage system installation or repair job functions at a commercial company or government facility.

  • One year experience with installing and repairing locks.

  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Evidence of skills in the following areas: managing new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgement, working independently with confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working independently as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicating with diverse groups of clients.

US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two year degree in related security systems field; ASIS Physical Security Specialist certification; One year experience installing Digital Monitoring Products alarm systems.

  • One year experience as a certified locksmith.

  • Two years of experience managing an organizations' key and lock program.

  • Preferred candidate will possess GSA Lockmaster Certification; Kaba Mas X10 Installation and Operation Certification; LSI LKM 10K Certification.

  • Licensed by Texas DPS Private Security Board as an Electronic Access Control Device installer.

Salary Range

$50,000-$56,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
