Position Summary
This is a Child Development Lab ( CDL) Support Staff position in the College of Family & Consumer Sciences. Support staff will have the same responsibilities as regular classroom teachers including, but not limited to, providing supervision of children, diapering/pottying, interacting with children in activities, lessons, and with guidance, when needed. This position also includes interactions with other adults including teachers, CDL administrators, and parents of children in the classroom.

Duties/Responsibilities
Assists in daily program activities for the classroom, including consideration given for the individual needs of the children. Assists in implementing lesson plans set forth by the Lead Teacher or designated lead. Ensures that the daily routine is followed and that transitions during the day are smooth and provide learning opportunities.

Manages overall classroom environment while effectively implementing activities and routines. Supervision of the entire classroom and playground is ensured while interacting with small groups of children.

Uses positive guidance techniques with all children and understands, accepts, and promotes the philosophies and standards set by the Child Development Lab and NAEYC. Uses effective listening skills that demonstrate respect and understanding and communicates parent requests to classroom teacher.
