Job Purpose Perform a MIG Welding operation for various manufactured automotive products. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Performs a manual gas metal arc welding operation to weld hanger and torque rod brackets to axle housings of various sizes. * Follows process prints, sets up own work, changes set-ups, and checks first piece to verify set-up. * Performs exacting but not difficult set-ups. * Moves housings using a hoist from welding fixture to roller conveyor. * Visually checks weld quality 100%. * Deslags first pass weld, and changes weld wire as required. * Detects and reports faulty operation of equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to assigned supervisor. * Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. * Observes prescribed safety regulations, gauging frequencies, and other standards of operation and conduct. * Performs other related duties as directed by assigned supervisor. * Must be able to stand for an 8-12 hour shift * Must be able to push/pull with a force up to 65 pounds * Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, 50 pounds occasionally * Must be able to operate material equipment * Must be able to stoop or bend to move parts, operate material equipment and clean area * Must be willing to rotate jobs and be able to perform all operations in the department * Attendance is mandatory and must be on time for work * Must be willing to work overtime when needed * Must practice good housekeeping and clean machines and work area * Must be flexible and willing to perform any task assigned by supervisor * Must be able to pass background check and meet substance abuse policy INDHT We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
