Position Summary:
The School of Applied Engineering and Technology (SAET) of the Newark College of Engineering at NJIT invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Technology (CPT). By the time of appointment, the successful candidate must have earned a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree, with a record of pertinent high-quality research in a related engineering field.

Essential Functions:
The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate CPT and Medical Informatics Technology (MIT) courses, demonstrate potential to establish strong industrial collaborations, and participate in the development of aligned software and medical device hardware at NJIT. The candidate is also expected to engage in research, advise graduate students (MS and PhD), produce technical publications, and obtain grant funding consistent with having a joint appointment in an aligned engineering department. Candidates should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Areas of research and academic interest of particular relevance include:
*Data Analytics: Exploring research methodologies to capture and analyze large datasets to predict medication efficacies, software adoption, wearable health and medical tracking equipment.
*Medical Informatics: Designing user interfaces for Electronic Medical Records and enhanced Human Computer Interface (HCI) design methodologies.
*Geriatric Engineering: Research and Design Strategies to enhance independent living compensating for mechanical and cognitive impairments of aging.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
By the time of appointment, successful candidates must have earned a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree, with a record of pertinent high-quality research in a related engineering field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Applicable industrial experience and prior teaching experience are highly desirable.
